Persepsi terhadap kredibiliti pemimpin dan penentuan dimensi paling dominan

Abstract
  • Kredibiliti merupakan elemen penting khususnya dalam kepimpinan. Tanpa kredibiliti, seorang pemimpin dilihat tidak mampu untuk mempengaruhi pengikut dan seterusnya tidak berupaya untuk memimpin. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti dimensi kredibiliti yang paling dominan bagi pemimpin berdasarkan kepada persepsi responden. Selain itu, kajian ini ingin mengenal pasti perbezaan faktor demografi dengan persepsi terhadap kredibiliti pemimpin. Kajian ini melibatkan pelajar tahun akhir di institut pengajian tinggi awam sekitar Terengganu dan Kelantan. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur tiga dimensi ethos/kredibiliti mengandungi 18 soalan termasuk enam bipolar adjektif dengan merujuk soal selidik yang dikemukan oleh McCroskey dan Teven, (1999). Dapatan data dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian SPSS. Secara keseluruhannya, kajian mendapati tiada perbezaan signifikan antara faktor demografi dan persepsi terhadap kredibiliti pemimpin. Kajian juga mendapati dimensi kredibiliti yang paling dominan ialah kompeten. Kajian ini memberi implikasi bahawa aspek kompeten perlu diberi perhatian khususnya dalam memilih pemimpin atau calon bagi pilihan raya di Malaysia.
