Abstract
  • “Prominence” is a new adventure computer game. It is also new as a genre of interactive fiction in the corpus of electronic literature. Hence, the study of “Prominence ” in the context of interactive fiction genre is also a study that has not been carried out yet exclusively in the aspect of its structure. In view of that, this paper mainly aims to focus on the aesthetic experience the interactor will achieve when interacting with the play. The aesthetic experience will then produce the immersive pleasure for the interactor. Commonly, each stage experienced by the interactor will change its status. Starting from the weakest stage, or a novice, followed by the advanced beginner level, the competent, to the proficient, and then established as the expert. Subsequently, the five stages of the aesthetic experience of immersion have created a spectrum of the immersive pleasure which begins with curiosity, sympathy, identification, empathy, and intimacy. For that reason, as an interactive fiction, an aesthetic experience could be abstracted from “Prominence Therefore, immersive pleasure is the result of the experience and the whole process has been concreted systematically.
