Abstract
  • The advent of the internet and mobile technology has revolutionized the government services. Called mobile government or m- Government, this service offers citizens an extra convenience and approachability as users and citizens have the ability to use government information and services anytime and anywhere. Citizens can easily access these services via their mobile devices such as via smartphone. The main objective of this study is to investigate the factors that might influence Malaysian citizen’s behavioural intention to use m- Government services. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Unified Theory of Acceptance of Use of Technology (UTAUT) are combined to propose a conceptual model for this study. The model hypothesizes a positive relationship between Performance Expectancy (PE), Effort Expectancy (EE), Facilitating Conditions (FC), Perceived Trust (PT), Perceived Security (PS) and Behavioral Intention (BI) to use m- Government services. It also posits that Attitude (AT) mediate the relationship between the independent variables and dependent variable. This study will use a quantitative design to collect data by distributing a survey questionnaire. A convenience sampling will be used for this study. The findings from the study would provide insights into m- Government adoption, challenges and opportunities in Malaysia.
