Investigating intercultural competence in English language among Malaysian classrooms

Abstract
  • This study learns about the history of learning English as a second language in Malaysian classrooms as well as the history of learning intercultural education in Malaysia. International Cultural Competency is explained in order to continue the conversation about how to aid both students and teachers in Malaysian classrooms in their education of English and intercultural education. This study allows students to have a greater International Cultural Competency because of the tools and techniques found and discussed. It also aids teachers in teaching these topics to their students because of the tools and techniques explained. The purpose of this study was to show the importance of adding new pedagogical tools and techniques to the classrooms in Malaysia so that students can learn English more efficiently and learn intercultural education so they can be more successful in their future careers outside the classroom.
