Abstract
This study explores the implementation and effectiveness of green practice initiatives among non-academic staff at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perak Branch, Seri Iskandar Campus. In response to growing environmental concerns and the increasing need for sustainable development, higher education institutions play a critical role in promoting eco-friendly behaviors within their administrative and support systems. The primary objectives of this research are to identify the green practice initiatives currently adopted by non-academic staff and to assess their level of awareness and participation within the campus setting. A quantitative approach was employed, with data gathered through structured questionnaires distributed to 136 non-academic staff members. The findings reveal a moderate level of awareness and participation in green practices, such as reducing the use of low-decomposition products, implementing energy-saving measures through low water usage, and utilising natural lighting. However, the study also highlights inconsistencies in implementation and underscores the need for more structured training and incentives to enhance staff engagement. The research emphasizes the importance of institutional support, policy reinforcement, and continuous environmental education in fostering a culture of sustainability among campus staff. The insights gained contribute to the broader discourse on green campus initiatives and offer practical recommendations for strengthening environmental stewardship in tertiary institutions. By focusing on non-academic staff, this study addresses a crucial gap in existing literature and underscores the role of all campus stakeholders in achieving institutional sustainability goals.
