Abstract
  • This study examines the relationship between job satisfaction employee recognition on turnover intention among employees at Bank Y, one of Financial Institution in Malaysia. Using a quantitative cross-sectional design, data were collected via questionnaires from 93 employees across selected functions which are Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology. Multivariate analyses were conducted to investigate the nexus of job satisfaction and employee recognition on employee’s retention. Findings reveal that job satisfaction is a significant variable of employee’s retention, demonstrating a strong positively significant relationship, indicating that employees with higher job satisfaction are less likely to consider leaving. While employee recognition shows a moderate correlation with turnover intention, its direct effect is not statistically significant. These results suggest that recognition programs alone may be insufficient to retain employees unless integrated with broader initiatives that enhance job satisfaction, including professional development, fair compensation, and supportive work environments.
