Abstract
  • This study focused on the effectiveness of Mathway Application in improving the performance of Grade Ten (10) students of Piagapo National High School, Piagapo, Lanao del Sur, Philippines in solving trigonometric problems. A quasi-experimental research design was used in this study. The participants’ profile was described in terms of age, gender, and latest grade in Math. Moreover, this study sought to answer the participants profile in terms of age; gender, and latest Grade in Math; the test performance profile of the participants in the pre-test; the test performance profile of the participants in the post-test; the significant difference between the participants’ test performance in the pre-test and post- test and the participants’ views in the use of Mathway application in solving problem in trigonometry. The pre-test was first administered, followed by three weeks of intervention. After the intervention, the post-test followed. The test performances in pre-test and post-test were analyzed and interpreted. It was found out that their performances in the pre-test and post-test are remarked failed but there was a positive increase in the participants’ performance in the post-test. The findings of the study showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest performance, which means that Mathway improved the students’ performance. The participants also gave their affirmative views on using it. Thus, the use of Mathway Application was effective in helping students improve their performance in solving trigonometric problems. Hence, teachers are recommended to use innovative educational technologies like Mathway in the teaching-learning process.
