Sediments are capable of transporting loads of absorbed pesticides, heavy metals, toxins and nutrients. In this study, the concentration of heavy metals in the sediment at Marin Lake due to the excessive amount of heavy metals from ongoing construction lead to the damage to the sediment and water quality. Cadmium and Lead are tested in this research and three stations are selected based on the incoming and outgoing water flow of the lake. The result shows the concentration of Lead in Station A, Station B and Station C are 54mg/kg, 74mg/kg and 24mg/kg respectively. Cadmium concentration for all stations is less than 1mg/kg. Referring to the Standard Quality Guideline (SQG), Station A and Station B has surpassed the Threshold Effect Limit (TEL) for Lead concentration while Cadmium concentration is at a minimum level for three stations. The result also shows that the water quality parameters (Dissolved Oxygen, pH value) and sediment type has changed since the year 2017.
