The impact of innovation practices on the performance of Abu Dhabi police

Abstract
  • Innovation is one of the pillars of success in policing, whereas innovation foster police performance by using the latest technologies. However, the degree that innovation practices support Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) remain unreported in the literature. Hence, the aim of this study is to explore how innovation practices foster the performance of policemen in ADP. Qualitative methodology is adopted to answer research questions. Interviews are a data collection instrument. A sample of 15 police commanders participated in answering interview questions to make the final conclusions and recommendations. The results from interview transcripts showed that innovation practices have a substantial impact on the performance of ADP. Based on this result, this study recommends that police departments in Abu Dhabi on using the latest innovative tools for policing. By investing in the development of ADP through innovation then the security in the city will maintain at high level and protect its community.
