Kebangkitan kuasa ketenteraan china pasca perang dingin: ancaman atau aman?

Abstract
  • Artikel ini membincangkan berkenaan kebangkitan kuasa ketenteraan China merangkumi tujuan dan strategi kebangkitan, rasional bagi perbelanjaan untuk ketenteraan serta reaksi dari negara serantau. Dalam pada itu, artikel juga berkongsikan pandangan sarjana realis dan neorealis bagi membicarakan fenomena tersebut. Semasa era Perang Dingin, keunggulan kuasa AS telah cuba diseimbangi Kesatuan Soviet namun kejatuhan blok tersebut pada tahun 1991 mewujudkan kelompangan persaingan kuasa sehingga mengesahkan AS sebagai kuasa unipolar global dalam sistem antarabangsa yang anarki. Dalam era pasca Perang Dingin hari ini, kebangkitan kuasa ketenteraan China mencabar kembali percaturan kuasa serantau apabila China memulakan tindakan permodenan dan pemerkasaan kuasa ketenteraan lanjutan pertumbuhan ekonomi drastik mereka di peringkat global serta serantau. Walaupun China mempertahankan kebangkitan kuasa ketenteraan adalah aman dan hanya bertujuan melindungi kepentingan mereka namun tetap menimbulkan kebimbangan AS termasuk negara serantau yang menganggap kebangkitan tersebut sebagai ancaman. Artikel ini menganalisis kebangkitan kuasa ketenteraan China untuk menilai sama ada kebangkitan tersebut secara aman atau memberikan ancaman.
