Usability evaluation of eNabi: A digital game for Islamic learning depicting the story of three prophets

Abstract
  • eNabi is an online game designed to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and knowledge acquisition through digital gameplay. Children may lose interest quickly when learning about Muslim tales through traditional books lacking interactive multimedia content. Incorporating digital games provides an engaging education tool, allowing children to remain entertained while learning. Furthermore, there is a lack of interactive Islamic story games available for children to engage in Islamic learning. The primary objective of this project is to provide users with an interactive and enjoyable approach to learning, moving away from traditional methods of reading and listening. eNabi incorporates three prophet stories presented through animated videos, aiming to enhance users' understanding of Islamic stories through visual means. The objective of this study is to create an interactive design for the game, focusing on ensuring easy accessibility of the game website for users. The project aims to identify the key elements of game-based Islamic learning, allowing users to engage with video content while learning about Islamic stories. A total of 33 children within the age range of seven to nine were carefully chosen as the study participants. A descriptive approach was adopted to analyze the collected data. The children rated eNabi as both useful and satisfying, with a mean score of 4.63 for ease of use and 4.72 for learnability and satisfaction. The findings of this study indicate that children readily embraced the eNabi game as a means of comprehending the stories of prophets while engaging in gameplay. By integrating Islamic learning into the game, it is anticipated that users can enjoy a fun and interactive experience while simultaneously acquiring knowledge.
