Abstract
  • In today's fiercely competitive global market, organizational excellence is not just an aspiration but a necessity for survival. A pivotal factor that sets successful enterprises apart is their adeptness in cultivating talent pools and managing talent effectively. This paper examines the evolution of talent management, tracing its origins from the "War for Talent" to its current role as a critical strategic function that aligns talent management practices with organizational objectives to nurture a culture of innovation and excellence. The study delves into the theoretical concepts of talent management processes and talent pools, and their direct impact on enhancing organizational performance and achieving excellence. Leveraging extensive scholarly literature and industry insights, this paper elucidates the comprehensive talent management process, encompassing strategic HR practices such as attraction and retention, talent audits, role design, talent relationship management, performance management, learning and development, succession planning, and career management. The ultimate goal is to assemble a collective talent pool of high-performing employees. Additionally, the paper presents case studies of two leading global companies, Google and Toyota, that have successfully implemented talent management strategies resulting in remarkable organizational excellence. The achievements of these organizations offer invaluable lessons for other companies striving to implement effective talent management strategies and achieve organizational excellence, which is crucial for thriving in today's competitive landscape.
