Abstract
The role of personal shopper has been widely known by the public due to the growing demand for personalized shopping experiences. The potential of personal shopper as a viable career path can impact the economy as well as solve the unemployment among unemployed graduates. This conceptual paper explores the relationship between Individual Entrepreneurial Orientation (IEO)—specifically innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness—and the intention to pursue a career as a personal shopper. Drawing from the entrepreneurial orientation literature and career decision-making theories, this study proposes a conceptual framework to examine how these entrepreneurial traits influence career intentions within the emerging personal shopping industry. By extending the application of IEO to a non-traditional career context, the paper contributes to both entrepreneurial and career development research. Practical implications are discussed for career counselors, policymakers, and educators aiming to promote personal shopping as a viable career path, alongside recommendations for future empirical studies to validate the proposed model.
