Abstract
  • Agriculture continues to play an important role in undertaking global issues such as sustainable development, food security, and poverty alleviation. However, Malaysia's agricultural sector has various obstacles, such as an ageing farmer population, restricted access to modern technologies, and fluctuating international markets. These issues highlight the importance of preparing young agropreneurs with the essential information, attitudes, and abilities for success. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of knowledge, attitude, and skills on the entrepreneurial success of young agropreneurs in Malaysia. It specifically investigates how these elements influence both financial and non-financial performance, such as innovation capability, market adaption, and sustainability. This study uses a cross-sectional methodology and cluster probability sampling to examine the determinants influencing entrepreneurial success among 150 young agropreneurs in northern Peninsular Malaysia. Data were gathered using validated questionnaires and analysed using SPSS Version 27, with an emphasis on the relationships between knowledge, attitude, skill, and business success. The results show that among young agropreneurs, knowledge and skill are significantly correlated with entrepreneurial success, while attitude and success are not significantly correlated. This study contributes to the understanding of entrepreneurial success among young agropreneurs in Malaysia by highlighting the critical role of knowledge and skill, while also identifying the need to explore additional factors like innovation, technology adoption, and access to finance to enhance their success in the agricultural sector. In conclusion, nurturing the success of young agropreneurs in Malaysia involves targeted efforts in agricultural knowledge, skill development, and policy support to ensure a sustainable and prosperous agricultural future.
