A bibliometric study: Occupational mental health illness in the industry

Abstract
  • Introduction: Occupational mental health illness is progressively recognized concern in the various industries, affecting workforce productivity and well-being. The aim of this bibliometric study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of publication trends, scholarly contributions, and subject areas and citations surrounding occupational mental health illness in the industry. Method: This study applied advanced bibliometric analysis approaches to systematically analyse the existing literature related to occupational mental health illness in the industry. A comprehensive search was done on Scopus. The inclusion criteria were to include recently published original articles and reviews in last years (2018-2024). Several bibliometric indicators, like citation analysis, co-authorship networks, and keyword co-occurrence, were utilized to extract meaningful insights from the enormous and dynamic occupational mental health illness research landscape. Results: Our bibliometric analysis presented a growing interest in the research on occupational mental health illness within the industry, as showed by rising number of publications. The study shows key contributors and research trends, highlighting on the interdisciplinary nature of occupational mental health illness research. Co-authorship network analysis reveals global collaboration patterns, shedding light on the interconnectedness of scholars and research bodies. Keyword co-occurrence analysis emphasizing the thematic foci from specific mental health illness to workplace factors influencing occupational mental health illness. Moreover, the study explores subject area distributions, giving insights into the varied disciplines contributing to occupational mental health illness research. Conclusion: This bibliometric study is a type of a comprehensive overview of the landscape of occupational mental health illness research in the industry. The results contribute to the understanding of the growing trends, key contributors, and thematic concentrations within occupational mental health illness research. By identifying emerging patterns, this research informs future directions and interventions of research aimed at enhancing occupational mental health in industries. The bibliometric approach demonstrates its efficacy in emphasizing the complexities of occupational mental health illness research, offering valued insights for researchers as well as practitioners in the field.
