Abstract
  • In recent years, people's health and even lives have been seriously threatened by the global outbreak of a new coronavirus. As the disaster comes to people's lives unawares, the self of each individual is brought into greater focus. The epidemic calls for literary expression and philosophical reflection, and in the isolated island of Shanghai in the 1940s, Zhang Eiling's attention to and interpretation of people with traumatic experiences gives us the possibility to dialogue with Zhang Eiling's characters under the epidemic, and Zhang Eiling's research provides us with valuable experience in paying attention to the state of existence and the journey of individual lives under the epidemic.
