It is simultaneously raised as the national ethos in guiding the country through the construction, strengthening and harmony phase of the country based on a multi-racial society. This study aims to measure the level of Malaysian youth's understanding on the functions of Malay language as an official language. Through a quantitative study using the survey method, a total of 987 youths were randomly selected as respondents. Besides, survey method uses a questionnaire that is constructed independently to obtain data and later analyze the responses to obtain mean values and correlation values.
