Abstract
  • The courier services industry in Lanao del Sur Province of the Philippines has emerged as a pivotal element in the region's economic landscape, significantly transforming business operations and customer behavior. Nonetheless, it faces challenges in keeping up with the ever-shifting needs of the market, which makes it struggle to maintain its position as a significant industry in the province. With the growing demand for the courier service in Lanao del Sur, but limited studies conducted to investigate their service quality, it was imperative to understand the relationship between the service quality and customer satisfaction that interplay, with a focus on J&T courier service, the leading courier brand in the locale. As such, this paper utilized a cross-sectional study and used a self-made questionnaire validated by research experts to guarantee its effectiveness and tested for reliability to thoroughly analyze the correlation between service quality and customer satisfaction among courier services in Lanao del Sur. This study revealed that the majority of customers had positive expectations across various service quality dimensions. While satisfaction levels were generally high, there were disparities between expected and confirmed service quality, indicating room for improvement. Additionally, the study showed a significant relationship between the level of expectation and the level of confirmation of the respondents on the service quality of the courier services, and that their level of expectation and confirmation affect their customer satisfaction. Overall, the study emphasized the need for courier services to focus on improving service quality, particularly in areas like reliability and timeliness, to better match customer expectations and maintain satisfaction levels. It is also important to align service quality with customer expectations to enhance satisfaction and loyalty in the courier services sector in Lanao del Sur.
