Abstract
  • In general, information privacy refers to the protection and control of personal information, particularly in the context of digital technologies and the information age. Nowadays, most businesses use the information without a person's permission, yet it is crucial to balance the rights of individuals who willingly give their information. There are two problems associated which are (1) Inadequate privacy protection related to the self-regulatory efficacy of computer professionals in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and (2) Lack of a conceptual model for computer professionals' self-regulatory efficacy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, concerning information privacy practices. The objective of this study is to propose a conceptual model of Dhaka’s computer professionals’ self-regulatory efficacy concerning information privacy practices. This research’s contribution is in the form of a conceptual model for Bangladesh’s computer professionals’ self-regulatory efficacy in safeguarding information privacy. Thus, this research can be a starting point for other researchers to further conduct studies on how self-regulatory efficacy contributes to the computer professional information privacy practice.
