Abstract
  • This study explored the use of observational research and process observation analysis to understand group atmosphere. The study focused on the process of collecting insights gained from the mood characteristics of the group by finding words that describe the general impression held by the group members during meetings. Using qualitative research, the study included the collection of details on how the mood was set and was created during group discussion. The study revealed that among the three different organizations (e.g., academic student organization, religious group, and multimedia field) the presider of every meeting was identified to be the person who set and create the group’s mood and most likely to ensure a friendly and cordial atmosphere.
