Abstract
  • The integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has become essential in modern building design and facility management, particularly for the efficient planning and maintenance of electrical systems. This study focuses on the development of a 3D model of electrical systems in Annex 3 at UiTM Seri Iskandar, utilizing BIM and GIS technologies to improve visualization, spatial analysis, and data management. The methodology involves creating 2D electrical drafts using AutoCAD, developing detailed 3D models in Revit, and integrating spatial data in ArcGIS Pro to enhance georeferencing and location-based analysis. By leveraging BIM, the study ensures a precise representation of electrical components, including wiring, circuits, and power distribution, while GIS provides spatial intelligence for better decision-making and facility monitoring. The integration of these technologies offers a comprehensive digital framework that enhances maintenance planning, optimizes space utilization, and improves the overall management of building utilities. The results highlight the potential of BIM-GIS fusion in facilitating smarter, data-driven infrastructure management, reducing operational risks, and improving the efficiency of electrical system analysis within buildings. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on smart building technologies and supports the development of more sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
