Social responsibility performance of the selected business enterprises in Marawi City: Challenges and strategies

Abstract
  • The purpose of the research is to determine the social responsibility performance of the selected business enterprises in Marawi City and the challenges they encountered in performing it as well as the strategies they have adapted to address it. The problem investigated the profile of the businesses, their social responsibility performed in terms of environmental activities, internal working ethics, honest marketing, engagement in charity works, challenges encountered and strategies adapted. The respondents of this study consisted of chosen proprietors and managers from various business establishments in Marawi City. A total of sixty-three (63) respondents from different business enterprises were purposively selected to answer the given survey questionnaires. Findings of the study revealed that internal working ethics and honest marketing were always performed while environmental social responsibility and engagement in charity works were often performed. With regards to the challenges, these businesses rarely encountered serious problems that hinders their social responsibility performance and that evidently suggest also that the strategies they adapted works for them.
