Abstract
  • Healthcare expenditure in Jordan is increasing continuously. Therefore, the efficient use of health technology helps to control costs and improve the economy. The purpose of this conceptual study is to investigate the factors that influence the use of electronic health records in Jordan and the impact of system usage on the performance of healthcare professionals. The Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) is the underlying theory extended to perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, facilitating conditions, and the information technology security model as antecedents to emotional trust, as well as the effects of performance as an outcome variable. The quantitative method will be used and data will be collected using cross-sectional questionnaires. Smart-PLS and IBM-SPSS will be used to analyse the data. 33 MoH hospitals, 14 Royal Medical Services hospitals, and two educational hospitals will benefit from this study. The results will help practitioners assess the current status of EHR implementation in Jordanian hospitals.
