Mengenalpasti keperluan dan motivasi sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan melalui misi bantuan kemanusiaan

Abstract
  • Sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan kini menjadi komponen utama kepada sumber manusia dalam misi bantuan kemanusiaan kepada kerajaan dan badan bukan kerajaan (NGO). Namun begitu, keperluan dan motivasi sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan masih di tahap yang kurang memuaskan. Oleh itu, objektif kajian ini adalah mengenalpasti keperluan dan motivasi sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan, kerana ianya dapat meningkatkan kualiti dalam misi bantuan kemanusiaan yang dilaksanakan. Ini sekaligus menjadikan sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan sebagai kepentingan utama kepada kesejahteraan sosial dan pembangunan komuniti. Pendekatan kualitatif telah digunakan dengan temubual secara mendalam bersama lima orang sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan daripada Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA) dan Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS) di mana kaedah pensampelan bertujuan telah digunakan dan data kemudiannya dianalisa menggunakan kaedah tematik. Hasil kajian mendapati tema keperluan sokongan psikososial, latihan intensif serta sumber dan bekalan bantuan yang mencukupi menjadi keperluan utama sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan. Manakala dalam aspek kerjaya bidang penjagaan kesihatan, pembentukan jati diri dan pengalaman sukarelawan akan meningkatkan motivasi mereka dalam misi-misi bantuan. Kajian ini menyumbang kepada faktor-faktor kejayaan penglibatan sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan agar peranan mereka terus diperkasakan dalam memberi bantuan dalam misi bantuan kemanusiaan.
