Abstract
  • Inclusion in preschool is a practice of providing equal access for learning opportunities and resources for the special needs children. As for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) inclusion is crucial in developing their socio-communication and self-care skills. Preschool teachers play an important role in carry out successful inclusion. The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore the experience of the 5 preschool teachers in inclusive setting in Malaysia. This study will explore the challenges faced by the preschool teachers and the method they are using in the setting. The objectives of the studies are: 1. To determine the challenges faced by preschool teachers with ASD students, 2. To identify methods used by the preschool teachers with ASD students to overcome the challenges. The finding shows that the preschool teachers experiencing various difficulties and using different kind of methods to overcome the challenges. In conclusion, the success of the inclusion for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children, being questionable due to the constraint faced by the preschool teachers.
