Abstract
  • The Indonesian cellular market is highly competitive, but network quality remains a challenge due to the unique characteristics of the market. The population is unevenly distributed across its islands, and the market is highly price-sensitive, making it challenging for companies to invest in improving network quality. To address these challenges, cellular companies in Indonesia must adopt new strategies that can help them improve their network quality and enhance user experience competitiveness. This study proposes using the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to analyze customer feedback and develop solutions to improve network quality. The methodology involves five steps that help companies understand the correlation between expectations, issues, root causes, solutions, and results. Cellular companies can also use network indicator instruments such as Tutela and OpenSignal to identify areas of improvement and benchmark themselves against their competitors. Improving network quality involves a combination of approaches, including technology upgrades and network optimization. Cellular companies can invest in new hardware or software to improve their network capacity and coverage. A pilot project will be implemented to evaluate the effectiveness of the network improvement strategies developed through the DMAIC methodology. The expected results of this study will contribute to the existing literature on network quality and user experience competitiveness in the Indonesian cellular market and the broader field of telecommunications research.
