Abstract
The public participation mechanisms in e-government utilize digital tools to provide convenient channels for citizen engagement in public affairs and policymaking, thereby advancing the processes of democratic governance and administration. These mechanisms, supported by networked democratic participation platforms, public opinion collection and feedback systems, public opinion databases, and governmental policy knowledge bases, enable governments to adopt a citizen-centric approach. By leveraging and expanding internal and external knowledge resources, these mechanisms foster continuous innovation in management. They have significantly enhanced government performance in policymaking, public services, and communication, while strengthening citizen participation and trust.
